Mo. lawmakers begin to study criminal code re-write
Wednesday, September 12, 2012
The last time Missouri lawmakers rewrote the state’s entire criminal code, the project was handled by then-state Sen. Ike Skelton, D-Lexington, and a former prosecutor.
Later, he was elected to Congress in November 1976, and served there for 34 years.
Missouri lawmakers now are starting to rewrite the code, with a half-dozen hearings scheduled at the Capitol through Oct. 16.
