The city’s Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) promoted the city to Georgia fans both behind the scenes and by holding the rally. Some local hotels and restaurants did a booming business from fans of both teams.

“Oh, heck yeah. We got stomped,” said Shelley Crocker, Country Kitchen’s general manager. “We’ll take it any time we can get it.”

Now ya see it..........that is why JC/Cole County should be trying to get the funds to build an all season, all sport , athletic complex. That way JC could be hosting some of these sporting events, that are being held over in Columbia and elswhere through out the state. Oh sure JC would not take away from the Hearns Center Collegiate events, but if JC invested in the proper facilities, the Capital City could and would attract some of the major High School Athletic events and possibly some events hosted by private clubs. An indoor all sport comolex would pay for itself in no time as it created interest in the city. It would also generate a few jobs and some much needed revenue and could be used as a Concert Hall fore entertainment acts...more money. If this last weekend did nothing, it proved that the Mizzou Footballer's are gonna take a whoopin the SEC and... a sports complex is what JC needs waaaayyyyy before a Conference Center It's a much better attraction and would certainly bring in the new faces. Championship Athletics here in Jefferson City, folks it's a golden opportunity.

The city "leaders" have such tunnel vision. All they can think of is a conference center. Even if we built a real nice one, we could never compete with Columbia, Springfield, Branson, or all the properties at the Lake of the Ozarks. A conference center in Jefferson City would end up being just like the Capital Mall.

Waste of time. Waste of money
