ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — One of five men charged in a 2011 shooting death in St. Joseph faces additional criminal counts.
The St. Joseph News-Press (http://bit.ly/QsHAjw) reported that 17-year-old Elijah Pickett was charged Friday with two counts of armed criminal action and one count each of first-degree burglary and attempted robbery.
He previously was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the August 2011 death of Brian Ulmer.
Prosecutors allege Pickett fired the shots that killed Ulmer while attempting to rob his home. Pickett has maintained his innocence. His trial is scheduled to begin Jan. 7.
