It was clear from the beginning Friday's game between Jefferson City and Fayetteville was going to be a shootout.

Jefferson City just had a little better execution.

The Jays overcame six touchdown passes by Bulldog quarterback Austin Allen in a 49-39 win at Adkins Stadium.

They overcame it because Jays quarterback Thomas LePage ran or passed for six of Jefferson City's seven touchdowns.

"There were three phases of the game played tonight," Jefferson City head coach Ted LePage said. "And all three phases we played our heart out."

Allen tossed two touchdown passes in the first quarter to put the Bulldogs up 13-7 with 4:35 left. But Fayetteville missed its second extra point, and had to play catch up the rest of the way.
