Raising awareness of the problems facing youths leaving the foster care system is the reason a Texas native came to Jefferson City on Tuesday evening as part of a nationwide concert tour.
“Eighty percent of kids that age out of foster care go homeless in their first six months and 70 percent of prisoners in our prison system were in foster care,” said Kevin Montgomery. “Those are pretty powerful numbers.”
He said the tour does concerts with about 60-100 people each night in attendance.
