Mid-Missouri Tigers Hockey Club begins practice

While the NHL season is in jeopardy with a possible lockout on the horizon, hockey is alive and well in Jefferson City.

The Mid-Missouri Tigers Hockey Club opened up practice Wednesday at the Washington Park Ice Arena.

“The focus of the program is to get kids involved in a team sport,” Squirt team representative and board member Gaila Trusty said. “Just like anything else, learn sportsmanship, how to play as a team, work together for a common goal.”

The organization fields teams at six different age levels, as well as putting on a “Learn to Play Program.” Players ages 4-18 represent the Tigers, who play in the ....
