JC man gets 10 years for sodomy

A Jefferson City man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of statutory sodomy from September 2010.

A charge of first-degree statutory rape against John Bass, 20, of 322 Chestnut St., was dismissed.

According to police reports, the victim, a then 13-year-old girl, told police “she was taken to a residence by three males,” but knew only two of them.

She said one of the three was a juvenile she knew, “who persuaded her to enter what he claimed to be his residence” in the 300 block of East Dunklin Street.

Once inside, she said, she was forced to have sexual contact with all three.

The police statements say the juvenile confirmed that Bass had contact with the girl.
