WARDSVILLE - Taylor Markway has three at-bats for Blair Oaks this season, all as a pinch hitter, all resulting in base hits. None were bigger than Tuesday night.

The sophomore came up with two outs and two runners on with the Lady Falcons trailing by a run. She drove a pitch over the head of the center fielder toward the gap in left to plate two runs and give Blair Oaks a 3-2 walk-off win over Helias at the Falcon Athletic Complex.

"I've watched a lot of ESPN highlights with walk-off hits and home runs, but in a high school game not too often have I experienced it, so from a coaching standpoint that's a pretty fun situation to see," Blair Oaks coach Sharon Buschjost said. "To come up in a pinch-hit situation like that with the game on the line, it was fun."

It was quite the task Markway was faced with heading into the at-bat, as Helias pitcher Paxton Welch had only allowed four hits and one run coming into the inning.
