Rescuers search for missing swimmer in river

HIGH RIDGE, Mo. (AP) — Rescuers are searching the Meramec River in eastern Missouri for a 39-year-old swimmer.

Authorities say the missing man's girlfriend reported him missing Friday night after losing sight of him.

TV station KMOV (http://bit.ly/RylJeK) reported that the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department and Missouri Highway Patrol were searching the waters Saturday morning.
