Lincoln quarterback Jacob Morris (12), shown here in a game last season against Fort Hays State, leads the Blue Tigers into their season opener against Lindenwood today.

It will be a sophomore/rookie game of sorts.

Lincoln, in the second year of its return to the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association following a 21-year hiatus, hosts Lindenwood, entering its first season in the conference, at 2 p.m. today at Dwight T. Reed Stadium.

"The guys are getting restless. We're a little excited, a little anxious," Lincoln head coach Mike Jones said. "I think they're anxious to hit some other people. We've got to stay focused, make sure we're doing the right things. Lindenwood's a very good football team, we know that, and we've got to take care of business."

The two programs are in search of one thing - an elusive league victory.
