Lincoln women open with game against Missouri

The Lincoln women's basketball team is ready to prove it's here to stay.

The Blue Tigers had arguably their best season in program history last year, winning 15 games and notching the first postseason victory for the school.

Lincoln lost its head coach when Katie Vaughn took over at Missouri-St. Louis and lost its leading scorer and rebounder when Vivian Essuon graduated, so surely the Blue Tigers are due for step back, right?

Not so fast. Lincoln is ready to build off last season's success and maybe even take it a step further. That quest starts at 7 p.m. today when the Blue Tigers travel to Columbia to take on Missouri for an exhibition game at Mizzou Arena.
