Council wraps up talks on RFP for conference center

The Jefferson City Council has completed discussions on what should be included in a request for proposals for a proposed conference center, which is anticipated to be sent out in December.

After several meetings on the issue, the council has decided each point to be included in the RFP, which now will be presented to the City Council as a bill at the next council meeting Monday.

So the City Council members have a plan and know who is going to be owner of the Conference Center...soooo I guess that would be it."BUT" not so fast folks. Have ya figured out who is gonna oay for this thing or even how the public feels about this deal? Last I heard there was a rather large portion of the public that isn't so thrilled with a Conference Center, especially right now. I got my popcorn ready and will watch this comedy series continue on.

When it comes to this issue, I hear those famous words "hey Charlie Brown, wanna kick the football" floating thorugh the air.

Gotta ensure that it is written so the favored local good ol boy Chamber member gets the contract, and so that profitability is guaranteed. You wait and see who this mess is awarded to. It will not be a surprise.

The other hoteliers in town should be as livid as the taxpayers over this whole fiasco.

The large domed building on Capitol Avenue is the big circus in town. The little building on McCarty hosts amateur hour and usually it is a comedy show.
