Dear Editor:
Representative Todd Akin has repeatedly stated that women who have been raped should have no access to any sort of "morning after" birth control, and should therefore be forced by the government to carry any offspring of that rape to birth.
I certainly understand his position, if a woman is able to stop her pregnancy if she has been "legitimately raped" then any resulting offspring must prove the rape was not "legitimate," at least in Akin's mind.
And this from a representative serving on the science and technology committee.
Akin should be ashamed.
