RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - Hosting the post-season tournament brought visitors to the school and a bit of an economic boost in Russellville.
On Monday and Tuesday, the Missouri State High School Activities Association's Class 2 volleyball tournament for District 7 was played on the newly-refinished court at Cole R-1 Schools.
Teams and visitors came from the other five competing schools - Tipton, Fatima, Eugene, California and Blair Oaks.
"We welcome the opportunity to host district play," said Heath Waters, athletic director and high school principal. "It's not only good for the kids to play on their own floor, we welcome others to our community."
Especially this year leading up to the town's 175th anniversary celebration, showcasing Russellville's attributes is good for the community, he said.
