Congressman's son leaves campaign in wake of video
Thursday, October 25, 2012
ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — The son of Democratic congressman Jim Moran of Virginia has resigned from his father's campaign after an undercover video shows him discussing a plan to cast fraudulent ballots.
Patrick Moran had been a field director for his father's campaign. He said Wednesday he didn't take the man seriously and humored him, adding that he should have walked away.
An organization led by activist James O'Keefe, Project Veritas, released a video showing an undercover operative pitching a voter-fraud plan to Patrick Moran. The plan called for casting ballots in the names of 100 voters who were registered but rarely voted.
In the video, Patrick Moran expresses doubts about the plan but eventually tells the undercover volunteer to "look into it."
Jim Moran's campaign office calls the incident an error in judgment.

"Jim M oran's campaign office calls the incident an error in judgment." Ever had an error in judgement Spelchek. Oh that's right your a republican, you don't presume to do these kind of errors.
connor 6 months, 3 weeks ago
an error in judgement is turning a corner too close or listening to people with fake Indian names or dating any one named Heather. Advocating or telling a subordinate to look into a criminal action is a bit more than an error in judgement.

Could same be said about The United States going to war with Iraq because of the weapons of mass destruction?
spelchek 6 months, 3 weeks ago
The war that Democrats voted for?
connor 6 months, 3 weeks ago
The same one a Democrat President continued.
dokeus6 6 months, 3 weeks ago
You mean the one the Republican made an error in judgement on ?

CONNER, YOU REMEMBER THE WAR OBAMAs PREDECESSOR FAILED TO PAY FOR! ROB
dokeus6 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Rob, he borrowed from China for it. Twice. That A-hole left a mess for the rest of us.
spelchek 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Just where do you think Obama is getting the money for stimulus, bail outs, Obamacare, etc...? At least try not to be a hypocrite.
spelchek 6 months, 3 weeks ago
The same one Democrats voted for and Obama spent $600,000,000 to inherit and fix in 2008? You're missing the present Rob living in the past. Get over it, it's history now. We learn from history. All this money spent on wars you despise is now being spent doubly by the man you elected and want to keep in office. Your double standard is getting old.

If I go out and charge till I drop, and wake up the next day, I still got to pay for it, you seem to be forgeting who spent all the money, and it goes all the way back to Reagan? I have posted this before! Obama may be spending some as well , but the right seems to think that all that debt is Obamas, I was complaining about the Iraqi war back in 2003, because I vote, I have that the right to complain, and in 2003 my complaint was HOW ARE WE GOING TO PAY FOR THIS! You know saddam was right when he was saying of Kuwait, in 91 that this is mine! The amount of oil was like 10% in Kuwait, and 90% in Iraq, and We were showing the Kuwaiti people how to get that oil; were we not? Side bore drilling and multiple drills heads? We were literally su-cking the oil right out from under him! If you go back and break the debt down per president, you would see what I am saying, It might be on Obamas plate, but he was not handing out all the helpings! Mean while we still need to Fix SocialSecurity, Medicare , and Health Care? Obama has done a great job at trying to fix these items, if he has done only 1 iota it is more than the Republicans ever will. Vote for Obama 2012! Rob

I'm sure it's all just one big simple misunderstanding.

Are the democrats still going to be able to use the deseased names for voting?
jpfelix 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Or could it have been a "blow off" response? O'Keefe's "stings" are as misleading as Michael Moore's!
connor 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Even a die hard Conservative like me will admit your claim has some merit JP. I wouldn't rate him as high as Moore though but your point is valid.

Great, we've finally found some voter fraud . . .
spelchek 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Let's not forget someone filling out the USAG Eric Holder's ballot in D.C. How quickly we forget.

Then why is it that it is all republicans being caught throwing away registrations and trying to stop people from voting. In Colorado it came out that the county clerks sent out two million voter registration cards all written in spanish with NOVEMBER 8 as the date of the Election but it was only on the ballots that were in spanish to stop Obama from getting the latin vote. Republicans have been caught increasingly this yr while they are trying to blame Dems. Another Flat out Lie by the Fright Wing. Voter Fraud has accounted for .00004% of the vote. They Just want to keep minorities from voting because that is the only way you can win.

Your chads are hanging...
spelchek 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Popular vote doesn't matter anyhow so your argument against minority suppression is null. Many states are moving to get rid of the electoral college. Anyhow, I don't remember seeing "whites" standing at my polling place holding bats and intimidating voters. Moreover, I'm not offered a bus and free pizza to get me out an vote Nov. 6th either. Soldiers die defending our rights, voting included. We shouldn't let them die in vain by letting a single person commit voter fraud and if that means showing ID to prove who you are, so be it. Not much to ask for when your countrymen have died to defend that right.
MO4LIFE 6 months, 3 weeks ago
But why are we trying to bring a voter ID now that all the reports say that white people are becoming the minority in this country. Tea Party and Fright Wing Talk of taking our country back (code for get rid of minorities) Stand your ground laws (minorities can't use this law for themselves they are convicted everytime but if you look up the numbers white on black shootings stand your ground gets them off 95% of the time) Take back our Country indeed. The only other time they tried to pass voter id laws and all that ws during the Jim Crow laws. No matter how you try to phrase it you are only trying to disenfranchise the poor people who cannot get an id because they are not free.
spelchek 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Poor people not free? You're right. They are slaves to the government and the welfare teat they suck on. Do you honestly think Democrats want to lose such a huge voting base? Who else could they pander to? Also, work on your decryption skills because they're lackluster. In regards to minorities, you shouldn't take Joe Biden so seriously, nobody else does. Lastly, you like to throw around black on white and white on black but fail to mention black on black crime or white on white crime. "Each year, roughly 7000 blacks are murdered. Ninety-four percent of the time, the murderer is another black person." You're cherry picking to win your argument. Using your rationale for racism via ID laws then pretty much everyone and everything is racist because you need an ID from employment to flying. I could flip the coin and say you have a hidden agenda of wanting felons and dead people to vote by not wanting ID laws. It works both ways.

spelchek...I read a lot of your comments and I have no idea your gender, ethnic background, age, or anything else, but it doesn't even matter. Your comments are fact based, thought provoking, eloquent, grammatically correct, a little humurous with a bit of sarcasm thrown in and spot on the money every time!! I think I'm in LOVE!! Have YOU ever though of running for public office?? Bahahaha!! :)

Spelchek, don't forget the free cigarettes! Can't forget those! Voting would be nothing without them.
RobHunterJohnson 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Do they hand out free smokes? Hows about changing voting to Halloween, so the kids can get free candy and the adults can get deressed up in make believe! Oh but the Tea Party already does that . Rob
MO4LIFE 6 months, 3 weeks ago
except that the fact that voter fraud is amade up thing by the republicans because it is only happened .00004% of the time.
