Collector’s request moved to council

A request from the Cole County collector’s office for a new contract, which includes an increase in percentage of collections, has been forwarded to the full Jefferson City Council for review.

The Finance Committee opted Tuesday to move the issue to the full council for a decision. Collector Larry Vincent had presented a draft of a new contract at a previous committee meeting that included a half percent increase in collection fees.
