Area volleyball squads open district action

It’s time to get down to business for the high school volleyball teams throughout the area.

After a lengthy regular season, the postseason will begin for all — and end for some — over the next two days as district play gets under way.

The Jefferson City Lady Jays are one of the teams that will get started today, as they are the second seed in the Class 4 District 10 Tournament at Camdenton. The Lady Jays play a first-round match with No. 7 West Plains at 5 p.m.

If the Lady Jays win today, they’ll play in the semifinals at 6:16 p.m. Tuesday against either No. 3 Lebanon or No. 6 Rolla.

The championship match in the district is set for 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
