Twin Cities rapper cancels tour, needs kidney

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Twin Cities rapper P.O.S. is canceling his national tour, saying he needs a new kidney.

In a YouTube video, P.O.S. says both of his kidneys "are garbage" and have been "going bad" since he was a teenager.

P.O.S., whose real name is Stef Alexander, says he's been on dialysis for about a month and had planned to take a machine on the road.

Last month the condition forced him to cut short a gig at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul.

P.O.S. still plans to hold a concert next Friday at First Avenue in downtown Minneapolis to celebrate the release of his latest album, "We Don't Even Live Here."

The Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/QxegeB) reports he's asking fans for financial donations, and possible donor matches for a new kidney.
