Lincoln's Williams takes second

MARYVILLE, Mo. — Twishana Williams’ runner-up finish was the lone highlight for the Lincoln Blue Tigers in the MIAA Women’s Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

Williams, who took third at last year’s event and was named MIAA Newcomer of the Year, placed second in a time of 22:28.40. Truman State’s Karen Grauel won the 6K race with a time of 22:11.59.

Williams now has eight top-seven finishes in her nine races at Lincoln. She has three wins and three other top-three finishes.

For her efforts, Williams received all-MIAA honors Sunday.
