Heart of Missouri United Way, which serves the Columbia area, released its 2013 budget Wednesday, and seven agencies currently funded by the chapter will not receive funds next year.
This concerns officials with United Way of Central Missouri, serving Jefferson City, because they want the public to understand the Capital City-based chapter will continue to fund some of these agencies. Funding was not cut from all United Way chapters.
Boy Scouts of America Great Rivers Council, Red Cross Heart of Missouri and Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland are three agencies that were cut from Heart of Missouri United Way funding, but will continue to receive funds from the Jefferson City chapter.
