KC police looking for man who used cane in robbery

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Kansas City police are looking for a man who robbed one gas station and tried to rob two others by brandishing a cane.

The man first tried to rob a Phillips store at 4:19 p.m. Friday by pointing a cane at a clerk and demanding money. The Kansas City Star (http://bit.ly/WQESut) reports she shut the cash register drawer after he jabbed her with the cane.

Police say the man, who they estimate to be 55 to 60 years old, tried to open the register but was unsuccessful. They say minutes later he tried to rob another Phillips store in North Kansas City, but wasn't successful at that one, either.

Police say just after 5 p.m. he used the cane to rob a Conoco station of an undetermined amount of money.
