Suspension upheld for manager of animal shelter

Jefferson City’s police personnel board this week upheld Chief Roger Schroeder’s one-day suspension of Karen Jennings, manager of the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.

City Attorney Drew Hilpert said he could not explain why Schroeder ordered the suspension because it was a personnel matter. But, Hilpert added, Jennings still is the animal control supervisor.
