In past seasons, Jefferson City’s game against Rock Bridge has been for little more than bragging rights.
The new playoff format in high school football was designed to change all of that. In the case of Jefferson City and Rock Bridge, it has succeeded.
The new system, which ranks teams based on their regular-season performances, makes Friday’s regular-season finale important as the two teams battle for district seeding.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Adkins Stadium.
