A company in Holts Summit has started construction on a $6 million expansion, expecting to add more than 43 new jobs throughout the next three years. The Missouri Department of Economic Development announced Wednesday the expansion of Pro Food Systems, a wholesale distributor, which primarily markets and distributes Champs Chicken products.
The expansion is for a new headquarters in Holts Summit, where the company is already based.
Shawn Burcham, chief executive officer and president of Pro Food Systems, said the company broke ground on the expansion project about two weeks ago and hopes to have it finished by July 1.
The 65,000-square-foot headquarters will include frozen, fresh and dry storage areas and 18,000 square feet of new office space, a demonstration kitchen, workout area, larger break room and outside areas. He said the company plans to hire ....
