ROGERSVILLE, Mo. (AP) — The death of a 25-year-old southwest Missouri man is being investigated as a homicide.
Rogersville police said Russell Lawson was found dead by his mother Monday morning at his home across the street from Logan-Rogersville Upper Elementary School.
Police Chief Paul Laughlin says Lawson was shot in the head some time over the weekend. He had lived in the home for about six months.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Jason Pace says investigators are looking for a vehicle missing from Lawson's home. It's described as a banged-up red 1993 Chevrolet pickup with no tailgate.
Rogersville is located about 14 miles east of Springfield.
