After a public hearing on the issue, the Jefferson City Council opted to place a proposed noise ordinance on the informal calendar to allow for more work on the bill.
At the City Council meeting Monday, several people spoke both in favor and opposition to the proposed bill, which seeks to establish a measurable way of determining when a resident or business is in violation of the noise ordinance through decibel readings.
