Cole County collector asks city for raise

Jefferson City is considering an increase to the Cole County collector for services to the city. At a special Finance Committee meeting Monday, Collector Larry Vincent presented his request for an additional half percent in his fee for collecting taxes within the city.

Currently, Vincent receives 1 percent of what he collects, which he equates to $50,000 per year. The additional half percent would be an increase of $25,000 per year.
