Area girls set to play in state golf championships

The Jefferson City Lady Jays and the Helias Lady Crusaders will each have one golfer playing in the Class 2 State Championships starting this morning.

Brooke Thompson of Jefferson City and Jenna Kosmatka of Helias will play in the championships at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau.

Three area individuals will start play in the Class 1 state championships this morning at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield.

Russellville teammates Mikala Jungmeyer and Kelsey Schrimpf, along with Taylor Hayes of School of the Osage, are among the individuals in the tournament.
