Akin getting campaign help from reality TV stars

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin his getting some help from a large Arkansas family that has its own TV reality show.

Akin’s campaign says the family of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar will be appearing at several of his campaign events this week. The Duggars star on the TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting,” which gets its name from the fact they have 19 children.

Michelle Duggar plans to participate in a women-for-Akin event Tuesday in Springfield. The Duggar family is supposed to attend rallies with Akin later that day in Osage Beach and on Wednesday in Farmington and Poplar Bluff.

Akin, a Republican, is running against Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill in the Nov. 6 election.

Aiken is desparate and needs all the help he can get. His arrogance to stay in the race has handed Claire an easy win.

Aiken is going to self-implode one of these days. Too bad it wasn't well before the primary.

I didn't vote for Akin. Do not presume he has lost votes like mine and other Missourians over Claire. I do not support him but I will not waste my vote either.

The Duggars are the kind of family Akin wants all Americans to have -- huge -- with no form of birth control available. He is not just anti-abortion, which would be fine. He is anti any form of birth control. Don't like Claire, can't stand Akin.

Seriously? Why is someone from Arkansas who's only accomplishment is a worn out uterus and having her children raise her other children trumping for anyone running that has nothing to do with her state? How does a woman with 19 kids find the time to go campaigning anyway? Oh that's right, she dumps the babies off on her older children to raise. Could this race become ANY more of a JOKE?

Dugger and her large family probably fit well into the Mormon beliefs and practices too.
