Ashley Shoults says she has always been interested in surgery. And by pursuing a career as a surgical technologist, she's able to experience the atmosphere of an operating room.

She's a second-year surgical technology student at Lincoln University.

In July, the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs awarded national accreditation to Lincoln University's surgical technology program, extending the program 10 years.
