It’s no secret in the last decade football has surpassed baseball as America’s favorite sport.
The country is obsessed with the gridiron from high school, to college to the NFL. ESPN creates year- round coverage of the NFL, devoting time to live shows even in the offseason. High school games are starting to be broadcast on live television with more frequency. If one didn’t know better, they might surmise Tim Tebow was more popular than baseball.
But Friday night was a gentle reminder to this country why America’s true past time is baseball, and why a good number of people still live for what baseball has to offer.
