Saturday, October 13, 2012
A Jefferson City man was arrested Friday on suspicion of Internet-related crimes involving minors.
Nicholas Bax, 34, of 1506 Martha Lane, was arrested by officers with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department cyber crimes task force and the Jefferson City Police Department. He is in the Boone County Jail in Columbia.
He is facing charges of attempted enticement of a child, the attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and the attempted sexual misconduct of a child.
The investigation leading to Bax’s arrest began on Sept. 14 when Bax started e-mailing a person he believed was a 14-year-old Boone County boy, but was actually an undercover detective with the task force.
