Jefferson City loses 16-6

KANSAS CITY - Jefferson City couldn't have asked for a worse start to its game Friday night against Rockhurst.

Rockhurst kicker Griffin Bins made sure the bad start turned into a Jefferson City loss.

Rockhurst turned Jefferson City's first two possessions into 10 points and Bins added three field goals to lead the Hawklets to a 16-6 victory Friday night in Kansas City.

"We spotted them 10 points right off the bat and gave them six the rest of the game," Jefferson City head coach Ted LePage said.

Jefferson City quarterback Thomas LePage threw an interception on the third play of the game. Bins made it 3-0 with a 45-yard field goal.

With the Jays driving on their next possession, LePage was picked off again. This time Mitch Koeppen returned it 60 yards for a touchdown to make it 10-0 with 5:30 left in the first quarter.
