JC superintendent announces retirement October 1, 2014

Columbus Day holiday closings

Because of today’s Columbus Day holiday, federal, state and Cole County government offices will be closed, except for emergency services.

Although state government is closed, the State Archives in the Kirkpatrick State Information Center, 600 W. Main St., will be open 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Post offices are closed, and the U.S. Postal Service will not make regular home deliveries — but Express Mail and special deliveries will be made as needed. Mail collections will follow the holiday schedule, similar to the hours posted for Saturdays.

Most financial institutions will be closed for the holiday, but most other businesses will be open as usual.

There will be no planned changes to the normal Allied Waste collection schedules.

The Missouri River Regional Library in Jefferson City and Linn, the Daniel Boone Regional Libraries in Boone and Callaway counties and the Heartland Library branch in Eldon all will be open.
