School board to inspect elementary school renovations

The Jefferson City Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at North Elementary School in an effort to allow the board and other visitors to see the school’s new renovations.

Superintendent Brian Mitchell said contractors renovated the school’s interior over the summer, and installed an energy-efficient heating and cooling system and replaced some exterior walls which had deteriorated over time. The tours are scheduled to start at 5 p.m., but people who have difficulty arriving that early can also view the improvements after the board’s meeting is concluded, he added.
