Lady Jays fall 7-0

to Hickman in

district title game

The first was the worst.

In Friday's Class 4 District 9 Tournament title game, the Jefferson City Lady Jays went down in order on three grounders back to the pitcher in the top of the first inning.

In the bottom of the inning, the Hickman Kewpies scored three runs on five hits and went on to a 7-0 victory at Rock Bridge Field.

"The first inning did us in," Jefferson City coach Lisa Dey said. "It seems like we've had one inning like that in a lot of games this season. We played a complete ball game (Thursday) night, but we slipped back to play a similar-type game like we have a lot of times this season."
