Child, 4, killed in St. Louis area hit-run

PAGEDALE, Mo. (AP) — The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 4-year-old boy has died, and an 11-year-old boy is hospitalized after they were struck by a hit-and-run driver in Pagedale.

Patrol Sgt. Al Nothum says the boys were trying to cross a street Friday evening when they were hit by a pickup truck.

The patrol told The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/T83GZv ) that 4-year-old Trayeshon Williams died at the scene, and 11-year-old Jayshard Conner is hospitalized in St. Louis in critical condition.

Authorities are looking for a white or light-colored extended cab Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra pickup truck that left the scene.
