State audit rates JC license office ‘good’
Friday, October 5, 2012
A Jefferson City license office received a “good” rating in a state audit, but some of its accounting procedures were cited as needing improvement.
State Auditor Tom Schweich on Thursday released the audit of the Jefferson City license office on Southridge Drive.
Schweich’s audit noted the office did not always accurately record if a payment was made by cash, check or credit card and did not reconcile the amount of money received to the amount that was deposited.
A “good” rating means the office is managed well and any recommendations from the auditor have already, or will be, implemented, according to the auditor’s office.
