Thursday, October 4, 2012
Two separate traffic stops on the same road in Callaway County early Wednesday morning resulted in two men with felony warrants being taken into custody.
According to Callaway County Sheriff’s Department reports, the first stop occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. when a deputy observed Robert Vaught, Holts Summit, 22, operating a motor vehicle on County Road 4012 outside of Holts Summit.
He had a Callaway County warrant for failure to appear.
Vaught was arrested on the warrant and was also found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, scales and drug paraphernalia which led to a new charge of possession with intent to distribute being filed against him.
Later, at approximately 6:30 a.m., another traffic stop on County Road 4012 occurred, with a passenger in the vehicle providing a false name and the deputy recognizing this person to be Paul McKibben, 26, Jefferson City.
He was known to have a no-bond Cole County warrant for burglary.
As of Wednesday evening, both men were being held in the Callaway County Jail.
