Not long after joining one conference, the South Callaway Bulldogs have added an affiliation with another.
With the breakup of the Mid Missouri Conference last year thanks to the departures of Hallsville and Southern Boone to the Tri-County Conference, South Callaway joined the Show-Me Conference this year for all sports except football.
Because none of the Show-Me schools - Chamois, Eugene, Fatima, Linn, New Bloomfield, Russellville, St. Elizabeth and Tuscumbia - offer football, the Bulldogs are an independent in the sport both this fall and next.
That resulted in several long trips for the Bulldogs, such as going to Scotland County and Cuba this season and traveling next year to Crystal City and Confluence Academy in St. Louis.
