Arizona man sentenced on drug charges

In Callaway County case

FULTON, Mo. - An Arizona man has been sentenced to just more than two years in federal prison after agreeing to plead guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute marijuana in Callaway County.

Jose Dario Lopez, 31, was stopped on Interstate 70 for a traffic violation in August 2011.

The vehicle he was traveling in was rented in Arizona. When questioned about possible illegal substances in the vehicle, Lopez denied there were any inside.

A criminal history check of Lopez indicated he had been arrested multiple times, including a felony involving marijuana.
