According to recent reports from the North Pole, Father Christmas — better known as Santa Claus or St. Nicholas — is scheduled to make multiple appearances in Jefferson City this weekend.

Although the legendary patron saint of children was unavailable for an interview this week, a press release indicated he and Mrs. Claus will help light the Mayor’s Christmas Tree from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Rotary Park.

Santa also will make his regularly scheduled visit to the lobby of Hawthorn Bank — a kind of Town Hall chat session to listen to children’s needs and concerns — as a part of the community’s Downtown Living Windows event Friday evening.
