Your Opinion: Don’t overlook ‘naming rights’

Dear Editor:

According to a recent News Tribune/Jeff Haldiman story Councilman Bob Weber brought up the concept of “naming rights” in City Council conference center discussions.

This leads to something we may have overlooked. Naming rights are worth money, often large amounts.

I know that this idea is being presented late in the process. Potential large sums of money are not, however, to be overlooked.

I admonish the City Council to reconsider. Naming rights could be bid out. The council would have final approval.
