3 arrested in Missouri for credit card scheme

PERRYVILLE, Mo. (AP) — Three people are in custody in Missouri in connection with a credit card fraud scheme.

KFVS-TV (http://bit.ly/Tep4NZ ) reports that a man from Battle Creek, Mich., contacted police in Perryville, Mo., to say his credit card had been used at a Perryville convenience store on Friday. Surveillance video led to suspects at a motel.

Police arrested two people from Alexandria, Va., and one from Cheverly, Md. All three are jailed on $50,000 bond.

The suspects allegedly used stolen personal information to create credit cards and gift cards. Authorities say they found a laptop computer connected to a stripe card reader, along with 135 credit cards and gift cards. They also found more than $1,000 worth of cigarettes, which police say were purchased using the fraudulent cards.

Good news for you particular neighborhood, congratulations. My point is this: the drugs will still flow in a free society that want's them, and all the problems you describe, and many others, stem from the illegal trade, not directly from the drugs themselves. Drug abuse, including alcohol is a scourge of our culture, but moderate drug use, including alcohol, is accepted universaly. Maybe that's wrong, Maybe Islamic and Baptist teaching is correct and a real WOD would be justified. But the present WOD is fake, a waste of money, and is degrading our law enforcement efforts, morale, and resources. Some say all drugs should be legalized and managed medically rather than through law enforcement. I'm not sure I like the idea of being able to buy heroin at HiVee, but people do buy it somewhere. The tax issue alone makes sense for tolerated drugs like booze and pot. The rest are open for debate but I suspect that as long as we are a free country, and people have any cash at all, all drugs will always be available.
