4 of 5 victims in SW Mo. fire identified

WHEATON, Mo. (AP) - Authorities have identified four of the five people killed in a Thanksgiving Day fire at an apartment building in southwest Missouri.

Bob Lombard, chief of the Wheaton Fire Department, says the fire was reported about 3:20 a.m. Thursday. Fire crews arrived at the apartment within minutes of getting the call and found the victims in two separate units at the building. The fire was fully involved when firefighters arrived from the fire station located a few blocks away.

The Barry County coroner's office said Friday that four of the victims were identified as 40-year-old Mary Henning, and her son, Brandon Thurston; 32-year-old Jonathan "Jay" Gemmecke, Molly Doherty and Corey Hasche. The coroner's office said ages weren't available for some of the victims.
