Your Opinion: Reply to Munsen on Dyke’s cartoons

Dear Editor:

It’s very difficult to respond to those who seem to have no ability to accept any other opinions, beliefs or talents than those of celebrities.

What’s more difficult is to try to convince those celebrity worshipers that practically all their opinions have no basis in fact. Since the election it seems that the celebrity followers and the dependent class, by winning the election, are still in their mode of personal destruction.

I have no idea why since they don’t have to anymore, but I guess there are those insecure people that feel an overwhelming satisfaction by the Obama win that wish to continue their disgusting but winning technique.

The recent letter vilifying Jim Dyke, one of Jefferson City’s most impressive artists and politically astute residents I feel was written by a person that can only feel good about their self and their beliefs by attempting to bring talented and successful people down.

I think it would behoove those who envision Jim as “poised with his big box of Crayons and Big Chief Tablet” to visit Cottonstone Gallery or watch him drawing caricatures at most any of the area events. If one would do this, only an absolute boor would not be impressed.

With regard to his published cartoons, I have not seen one that has not been based on the highest morals and factual events and are not outclassed by any syndicated cartoonist.

I would ask Mr. Munsen Jr.: where are the liberal talk show hosts and cartoonists?

I would suggest, one can’t be successful discussing and defending lies, deception and innuendo.

Maybe Mr. Munsen Jr. should start thinking for himself.
