New city hall eyed for Holts Summit

The Holts Summit Board of Aldermen began work Monday on an ordinance to purchase a building next door to the city hall for $310,000.

City Administrator Brian Crane said the city plans to convert the 5,000-square-foot building to serve as a new city hall for Holts Summit.

The entire existing City Hall would be turned over to the Holts Summit Police Department, which now occupies the lower level of the building.

Crane said the existing meeting room used for regular alderman meetings and municipal court sessions will be used as a police training room.

If Jefferson Citians can make do with crumbling city streets, poor stormwater control, lack of sidewalks in residential areas, etc., I am sure that Holt's Summit residents will be fine too. Hopefully, someday you can have as nice of a city hall complex as we do. Ours takes up two full blocks with parking, plus we have acres of office space, shops, and other facilities all over town.
