MU's Richardson to play Saturday

Against Texas A&M

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Missouri defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson will play Saturday at No. 9 Texas A&M after he was suspended for last week’s 31-27 loss to Syracuse for violating team rules.

Coach Gary Pinkel also said Monday that quarterback James Franklin is questionable for the game after suffering a concussion on an option play in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s loss.

Richardson’s 70 tackles are second-most on the team and rank first in the Southeastern Conference among interior defensive linemen. The Tigers (5-6, 2-5 SEC) gave up 508 yards to Syracuse.

Franklin has missed three starts this year because of shoulder and knee injuries after starting all 13 games in 2011. Backup Corbin Berkstresser will start if Franklin isn’t able to play.

Why not! Richardson doesn't go to class and Pinkels going to be a new dad. Good news for all.

Mr. Richardson does have football talent...regretfully that cannot be said for his educational prowess. In that area Mr. Richardson is proving that he was never made to learn in his early years...I mean when you are the biggest kid in school you can pretty much do what you want in grade school. I'm sure th Middle School and High School coaches just loved having that huge body on their team. They loved it so much that they pushed Mr. Richardson through, which is most likely why he ended up in Jr. College...not becasue Jr College is bad, but it was easier to get Mr. Richardson through the JCO system...even though he didn't and still doesn't have the educational discipline to be in the POST HS nor JCO/College arena. Now Mr. Richardson is on his way to the big dollars of the NFL, because he's such a stud on the field...but won't it be a shame when his parents have to read him what that contract NFL says. Oh I guess it won't be so bad...at least he will make a lot of money...but he won't have a clue as to what comes with all that cash. And MIZ-ZOU will have proven that it doesn't matter if Richardson can succeed in the classroom...if he can succeed in athletic competition...that's all that matter's. In truth...if Sheldon was academically ineligibel last week...I find it hard to believe that things have changed for the better one week later. This move is all about improving Gary's chance for getting the team into the SEC Bowl game...and we all know that's about the MONEY! And given Pinkels current legal issues, he too will need every penny he can gather. So I guess there is another lesson ole Sheldon better learn...when ya make a lot of money and ya do something dumb...there are lot's people out there who are waiting to take advantage of the poor decision making.
