Nichols Career Center program wins $50,000 grant

Cars won’t be the only things getting a makeover at the Nichols Career Center auto collision repair program. The program itself will get a little tuneup after winning a national competition for a $50,000 grant this fall.
The funding will be used to update the program’s paint booth, install an air filtration system and purchase a new $28,000 welder, among other improvements. The program teaches students from nine school districts how to paint and repair vehicles.
