COLUMBIA - Missouri forward Alex Oriakhi said he wasn't a great offensive player at Connecticut last year.

So far this season, he's proving himself wrong.

Oriakhi finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Tigers improved to 3-0 with a 74-54 win against Nicholls State on Friday at Mizzou Arena.

"I'm not really much of an offensive player," Oriakhi said. "But coach (Frank) Haith is doing a good job of emphasizing throwing the ball into me."

On Friday, Oriakhi seemed like a pretty good offensive player as the senior garnered his second straight double-double. He had just two all of last season for the Huskies.

Oriakhi also hit 9-of-10 free throws after shooting less than 60 percent from the line last season.
